Los conocimientos de Vitis tiliifolia en comunidades nahuas de la Sierra de Zongolica, Veracruz, México

Resumen

El objetivo de este estudio fue caracterizar los conocimientos tradicionales asociados a Vitis tiliifolia en comunidades nahuas de la Sierra de Zongolica, Veracruz, con atención a su identificación local, usos, manejo y valor cultural. La investigación siguió un enfoque cualitativo y se desarrolló en cinco localidades mediante entrevistas semiestructuradas aplicadas con apoyo de la técnica de bola de nieve. El instrumento permitió recuperar denominaciones locales, formas de reconocimiento ecológico, modalidades de aprovechamiento y significados atribuidos a la especie en la vida cotidiana comunitaria. Los resultados indican que los frutos maduros son apreciados por su sabor y se emplean en el consumo directo y en la elaboración de jugos, atoles, vinos artesanales, licores e infusiones. Los usos registrados se distribuyen principalmente en la categoría alimenticia (50 %), seguida de la agroindustrial (28 %), la medicinal (13 %) y la cultural (9 %). También se identificó su presencia en rituales y artesanías, lo que amplía su relevancia más allá del plano alimentario. La discusión sitúa a Vitis tiliifolia como un recurso biocultural estratégico, cuya permanencia se vincula con la memoria comunitaria, el patrimonio local y el potencial de aprovechamiento territorial. Se concluye que la especie constituye una reserva de conocimiento tradicional con valor alimentario, cultural y productivo, pertinente para futuras acciones de conservación y valorización regional.
