Abstract

Currently there is an imbalance in the care of the environment, a problem that must be addressed by all citizens of the world, especially young people, because the future of our planet depends on them.  Environmental education is a fundamental factor to create awareness about caring for the environment, where university students can be the focus of attention and transmit information through various ways and especially through digital platforms, thus allowing information to reach all quickly and efficiently, and together we can work together for the benefit of our environment.  The objective of this work is to analyze the advantages that the social network (INSTAGRAM) offers us and how to use it to create awareness in university students for the care of the environment.  The study was descriptive; the information was collected through the application of an instrument (survey) to the total population of 50 university students.  The results show that the majority of the students surveyed would use the social network Instagram to create projects and raise awareness among the population for the care of the environment, on the other hand, most of the students have not participated in conferences and contests on caring for the environment.  Environment which confirms the importance of this research to promote sustainable development of the environment.
