The importance of health promotion and its impact on higher education.

Abstract

Health as a fundamental right of human beings is one of the fundamental pillars in academic development for good performance within the educational community.  In Panama, there is an increase in chronic non-communicable diseases among young adults, many of whom are in higher education.  It is important to retake as part of the educational agenda the promotion of health through activities and programs that allow access to information on the main health problems and their consequences within the educational processes.
